A friend mentioned the super quality of MAC make-up and how it stays on even after a long day at work, an intense night of clubbing, and unfortunately for her skin, having woken up in it the night after. So I decided to pay the MAC ladies a visit at their store in Westfield Stratford. I was put on a waiting list and sadly had to wait for half an hour for a make-up consultation. Even though this was a bit of a chore, it confirmed that MAC is popular! I asked for help finding a gold eyeshadow as I know the colour suits my skin tone but the girl who was carrying out my consultation seemed to offer me more daring shades - baring in mind I wanted something for both the day and night - a subtle yet glamorous shade.
After finally picking a colour myself, I had it applied and loved the bronze-gold shimmer in 'Woodwinked' which I coupled with a darker shade, 'Shadowy Lady' to create a smoky eye effect in the outer corners.
Even though the wait was long and the customer service nothing to rave about, I am so pleased with my eyeshadows that I'm even applying my make-up on my sluggish days in. It stays on all day, is easy to take off with a make-up wipe and has just the right amount of shimmer to make my eyes stand out and sparkle on a night out. A downside is the price - at £12.00 a pop the small eyeshadows don't come cheap. But if you're into your make-up and don't mind paying for quality then MAC is the right brand for you.
I rate the consultation and customer service a 6/10 and the eyeshadows themselves an 8/10.
Pleased!
